Restaurant and Shopping 'Lingo'

Both 1 ESO classes have been introduced to restaurant vocabulary and common expressions used when ordering food. They have been enjoying small group role-play in order to simulate a real life restaurant situation. Using a menu, the students choose drinks, food and dessert while a waitor or waitress uses the phrase 'Anything else?' in order to sell more to his/her customers! Students also learned multiple ways to ask for the bill. The students truly got into the spirit of the simulation by putting their own twist on conversations!

Note-worthy phrases include:
'We are out of pumpkin pie, something else?'
'That will take just 5 minutes'
'For you, that will cost $1 million, just because it's you'
'I'll have two egg rolls, please'

The students in 2nd of Bachillerato learned the common lingo used in clothing stores as well as not-as-common vocabulary. The students also worked in pairs to practice conversations commonly held between a sales attendant and a customer. Greeting upon entry, questions about color and size as well as cost of a pair of shoes were among the many typical questions one may hear in an English speaking store.
