Happy St. Patrick's Day 2014

What is St. Patrick's Day you ask? The students in our bilingual program should be able to tell you, or at the very least remind everyone to wear green this coming Monday, March 17th, 2014. This holiday celebrates the history of St. Patrick himself, who was a famous fairy of luck in Ireland. Read about his story here.

Did you know they dye the entire Chicago River (Illinois, USA) green for a few hours on this day? Imagine that!

Even McDonald's celebrates this holiday, by promoting their very famous Green Shamrock Milkshake during the entire month of March in America. Everyone waits all year for these heavy drinks and then are quite sick of them in a few weeks. Many familes bring green treats to work, school and even cook green pancakes for breakfast! Everything green on March 17th!

Cocteles: Batido verde

Ingredientes:

• 6 oz de yogurt griego
• ¾ taza de leche
• 1 cucharadita de extracto de menta
• Miel, al gusto
• 3 gotas de colorante verde natural
• Hielo

Preparación:

Vierte todos los ingredientes en un bol y con ayuda de una batidora mezcla hasta lograr una consistencia cremosa y una textura uniforme. Sirve en vasos adornados con hojas de trébol.
