Good Afternoon! Today with the 2nd of eso English class we started Unit 2, which talks about different places (shops, restaurants, drug stores, etc.) and what we do in those places. We ended the class talking about theme parks and there were a lot of new words for the class, so I thought it might be a good idea to share a little bit about what the kids learned today! We talked about different rides at theme parks:
 Roller Coasters,
Carousels,
Ferris Wheels,
and Bumper Cars.
But my favorite new word that the kids learned today is Cracker Jack.
Cracker Jacks are a very old (some might say one of the oldest in America) snack that you can buy at theme parks, but are more famous for being a favorite snack at baseball games. Cracker Jacks are caramel corn (popcorn covered in a sticky molasses syrup) and peanuts mixed together and they almost always come with some sort of prize inside, usually a piece of trivia. Every time I think of Cracker Jacks I think of an old song that I used to hear at baseball games. It's not as famous with the younger people in the United States, but if you ever talk to a fan of baseball, be sure to ask them if they know all the lyrics to this song - that's how you know they're a true fan.
