My first 2 weeks at I.E.S. Muro were wonderful! The teachers
are often full of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to teaching lessons in
English, and they are exceptionally aware of the importance of getting the
students to practice their English. Many of the students are also enthusiastic
about learning and using English as well.
One of my favorite parts about the job is the time between
and after classes, when students stop me just to talk and practice speaking.
They often ask me if I know a famous (English) song or band, if I like specific
types of food, and which soccer team I REALLY like better: Real Madrid or FC
Barcelona.
Thus far, a wide variety of vocabulary has been taught in
the different levels. These include characteristics of appearance, what someone
is like (personal descriptions), common terms used in a doctors office, physics
and matter terms, mathematical vocabulary, and physical fitness vocabulary.
Overall, the students are constantly surrounded by useful English vocabulary
and I am looking forward to seeing each individual grow their English
knowledge!
