There is/There are

Over the past week, the students in 1 ESO have been learning how to use "There is/ There are." Using food as a starting point, the students describe each item in the fridge.

We started by describing a picture of a fridge displayed on the digital board - "There are 2 apples. There is 1 cake. There are 5 onions."

Next, we introduced countable and uncountable items: "Any/Some." "There is some milk. There isn't any cheese. There is some cereal."

Although some of the vocabulary is tricky, they were able to describe their fridges at home very well!
