St. Patrick's Day is an Irish holiday celebrated on March 17th. The holiday is both cultural and religious, as Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. Originally, it was a day for feasting, but has now become a celebration of Irish culture. Most commonly attributed to the holiday are shamrocks, wearing the color green, pots of gold, and Leprechauns.
Around the world St. Patrick's Day has become largely celebrated and continues its growth yearly with parades and spectators traveling near and far to participate in the celebrations.
Annually, the river in Chicago even gets dyed GREEN!
