International Women's Day at Antonio Muro
This month, we celebrated International Women's Day by acknowledging famous female artists from around the world. In our art classes, Professor Natalia asked her students to read and learn about several popular, visual artists, choose one of them to study in more depth, and create a mock interview in an attempt to embody the artist herself and explain her work to the class. On the day of the presentations and mock interviews, our English Language Teaching Assistant, Elyse, functioned as the interviewer and asked the students questions about their artist. Because of this task, all of the students had the opportunity to read and practice their English, and all of the students learned more about women in art. Overall, the interviews were successful, and hopefully our classes have a greater appreciation for and understanding of a woman's capability to follow her passion.
